Welcome to Rising Capacities for Children Africa

We are Building a World Where CHILDREN FEEL Safe, ENGAGED & Valued

Our philosophy

We aim to  create a world where children are provided with opportunities to thrive academically and socially, regardless of their background.

We Collaborate with children, partners and stakeholders from diverse background to create spaces that are gender sensitive, safe and non-discriminatory to children from all abilities.

We  enhance educational environments for children, reducing dropout rates and improving academic and social outcomes through better infrastructure, resources, and support.

What We Do

01.

— We Educate

Through our model afterschool program, we support children aged 6-14 , who are in primary and junior secondary schools. We offer space to complete homework, receive tutoring, and engage in creative skill development and extracurricular activities.

02.

— We Strengthen

A key part of our work is the “Elimu Vijiji (Education in the village) Ricca Fellowship Program,” which trains teachers in effective, child-centered teaching methods.  By helping teachers learn the best ways to teach, we can keep kids engaged and reduce the number who drop out of school.

03.

— We Protect

Through our approach, we train selected students,  who would then facilitate discussions and activities among their classmates/schoolmates.  The selected students received comprehensive training on child rights, effective communication, and facilitation skills. This empower them to act as knowledgeable advocates within their schools.

04.

— We Partner

We work with parents, teachers, children, government and community organizations to create grassroot support for influencing change in creating child friendly spaces for children
05.

— We Provide Support

We target to offer basic infrastructure support focusing on hygiene and sanitation conditions in public primary schools.
